Awards & Accomplishments
- 2014 – Received the Kerala Sangeet Natak Academy Award for Mohiniyattam.
- 2012 - Awarded the Women Achievers Award for Excellence in the Arts by the
Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
- Co-authored a book along with Guru Bharati Shivaji
entitled ’Mohiniyattam’ in 2004, released by
the Hon. President of India.
- Profiled in the special Independence Day issue of The Week
magazine, August 17, 2003, as one of 50 Emerging Stars of India
to watch over the next decade.
- ‘Top Cultural Ambassador’ award from the Indian Institute of
Marketing & Management (IMM), conferred by I.K.Gujral, the
former Prime-Minister of India, in January 2003, at New Delhi,
India.
- Received the Rashtriya Ekta award from the All India Unity
Conference in 2003.
- Recipient of a Fellowship in 2002 from the
Indira Gandhi
National Centre for the Arts, (IGNCA) for a project entitled
‘Exploring New Dimensions in Mohiniyattam’.
- Recipient of a Fellowship in 2001 from the Department of
Culture, Government of India for a project entitled ‘Exploring
the Art of Mohiniyattam’.
- Recipient of ‘Outstanding Dancer of the Year’ award in 2001 from Keli, a Mumbai-based cultural organization.
- Recipient of the ‘Sanskriti Nritya Puraskar’ from the Prime
Minister of India in 1993.
